About the club

Welcome to NFC STUTTGART

Right after Covid, in February 2022, we were seeking ways to get back to our friends and community. That’s when Ravindra Chand, Manish Karki, and others came up with the idea of starting football in Stuttgart.

Football in Stuttgart had started earlier too. Shamim Akhtar organized games every now and then, but it was not regular. Even an attempt to take part in NRNA cup 2018 was made by Anupam Aryal and friends. But there were not enough players.

As per request from Ravindra Chand, Raman Paneru made the first call on 18th February 2022 for regular Sunday Football. On 20th February 7 people showed up. Samrat, Milan, Ravindra, Raman, and Binay were few among those. Manish Karki bought the ball & pump. Posts were made out of bags and shoes. That’s how it all started.

Encourged by first meet up, a second call was made on 27th Feb 2022. This time the call was made on behalf of Stuttgatt FC which later changed into NFC Stuttgart and NFC Stuttgart e.V thereafter. NFC Stuttgart was coined by Sachit Lama. He played as a full right back.

The club’s identity began to take shape as Lokendra Samba designed the first official logo and jersey, symbolizing our shared vision and pride. On June 1, 2022, with the official booking of our home ground by Suraj Pudasaini, NFC Stuttgart was formally established. These milestones laid the foundation for what has grown into a football club that not only competes on the pitch but also represents the spirit and unity of the Nepalese diaspora.

FOUNDING

In mid-2022, NFC Stuttgart took shape with its first logo and jerseys, playing friendlies against NFT Weingarten and NFT Munich before debuting in the Bundespokal tournament in Berlin. Despite early group-stage exits, the team gained valuable experience and confidence. Encouraging results from later friendlies with Weingarten and Nepal Darmstadt FC led to participation in the NRNA Cup 2022, where NFC Stuttgart achieved its first tournament victories, including a 1–0 win over NFT Munich and a 6–0 win over Göttingen, with Bibek Shrestha scoring the club’s first tournament goal. The season ended with recognition for the team’s rapid transformation, the first Dashain celebration on October 3rd, and preparations for official club registration.

Growing Ambitions On and Off the Field

In 2023, NFC Stuttgart grew more ambitious, fielding a fully sponsored squad of 25+ players with new jerseys for tournaments in Hamburg and Berlin, though results still kept the team in the group stages. Off the field, the club made a major breakthrough by successfully organizing Dashain in Stuttgart with over 150 attendees, followed by its first-ever Deusi Bhailo. Supported by sponsors like Dev Khadka (Gasthof Hirsch) and Birendra Ranabhat (Heilbronner Geldtransfer), the year marked a turning point as the club began balancing both football and cultural events.

From Cobweb to 1974 AD – A Year of Firsts

Building on 2023’s success, NFC Stuttgart made history in 2024 by hosting Cobweb in Stuttgart—the city of Mercedes-Benz—through an organizing committee of 10 members. The event not only covered costs but also funded tournaments, while giving rise to local band 8586. On the pitch, the men’s team reached the semifinals in both the NRNA Cup and Bundespokal, placing among Germany’s top four in just two years. Meanwhile, the newly formed women’s team debuted impressively, securing runner-up finishes in both tournaments. The year ended with the club’s biggest cultural achievement—bringing 1974 AD’s original lineup to Stuttgart—further solidifying NFC Stuttgart as a sporting and cultural hub.
